About Golden Change for Concerned Youth Forum

Golden Change Concerned Youth  is a nonprofit organization formed and registered by group of youth in 2006 as community-based organization and operated as CBO until 2017 when it was transformed and registered as NGO with cooperate affairs commission (C.A.C ) and currently is membership of several civil society networks. E.g. Nigeria network of non-governmental organization (NNNGO) Nigeria civil society network for water, sanitation and hygiene (NEWSAN).

The Civil Society Engagement Mechanism for UHC2030 (CSEM) which is the civil society constituent of the International Health Partnership for UHC2030 (UHC2030). The CSEM raises civil society voices in UHC2030 to ensure that Universal Health Coverage (UHC) policies are inclusive and equitable, and that systematic attention is given to the most marginalized and vulnerable populations so that no one is left behind. etc., GCCYF membership is open to all who share in our vision and mission and currently have over 700 members.

 

Our Organization consists of 3 main organs; Board of trustees, Advisory Board and the Management.

Golden Change Concerned Youth Forum (GCCYF) Board of trustees and board of Advisory is 8 member Board, comprising of 3 female and 5 male.  The Board is the decision taking body of the organisation and meets annually to review performance of the organisation, approve programmes and budget for the organisation.

The Management is saddled with the responsibility of decision implementation and day-to-day running of the Organization, which is headed by the president who is a member of the Board.  It is also made up of the Project Implementation Body and the support Staff.

INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME

GCCYF accepts students from universities, schools and colleges all over the world, based on the applications received through post or email. GCCYF at times also announce special internship programmes, as internships are need based, time based and duration specific. Hence, we have to cater to the individual need of the candidate or the institution concerned. GCCYF has a structured Volunteers

MISSION

To work directly with communities to empower them to effectively protect and care for their various needs in collaboration with relevant authorities and other service providers to create a society where socio-economic, political, physical and environmental interest of the people are prioritized especially the vulnerable and marginalized E.g. women, children, young persons and youth.

GCCYF recognizes the value and strength of networking with our partners and other NGO. We realize that mutually beneficial relationships with people who share our values, goals and objectives will enhance social and sustainable development that is why the concerned youth forum is member of several civil society network who work in our thematic areas and GCCYF membership is open for all who share in our vision and mission.

GCCYF appreciates the trust of our donors, partners and the public by striving to maintain the highest standards of, integrity and transparency in the conduct of all our activities that is why GCCYF adhere to its policy documents in its operation and activities and is open to be scrutinize at any time by relevant agencies of government and Donors.

Those who contribute to nonprofit organizations have a right to know how their money is being used and who is using it. We are proud to report that GCCYF earns high marks from those agencies and donors who has supported us with fund by monitoring the activities and use of funds, as matter of policy yearly audited accounts are share to and with our donors. GCCYF is fiscally conservative in its allocation of fund.

As matter of policy and practice our organizations spend at least 85% of our budget on programs directly to the beneficiaries, with remaining funds going to administrative and fund-raising expenses. At GCCYF, 85% to 90% of funds go to programs and technical support to the beneficiaries, while the remaining funds of 10% to 15% pay for management, general expenses, program improvement and fund-raising.

We are committed to excellence and cost effectiveness in all our activities so as to reach a greater number of people with our services.

GCCYF is committed to teamwork. We promote the self-esteem of our staff and encourage collaboration on projects and encomiums for each other for reaching our goals and targets. We implement our programs in line with principle of leave no one behind.

Golden change concerned youth forum is committed to being a learning organization in which all staff are continuously striving to learn to sustain and improve organizational outputs. Our leadership culture is aimed at making leaders out of our team.

To ensure the full participation of all in the development process, we support and promote gender equity and mainstream gender in all we do. Our Strategic Planning particularly seeks to empower youth and women to maximize their potentials and gain autonomy to become agents of change.
