SKILLS & TRAINING CENTRE
Skill development refers to the identification of skill gaps and developing the existing skills to enable a person to achieve his/her goals. This current generation lacks the necessary skills and there is a humongous gap between the skills existing in a person and the skills demanded by the industry. To this end, GCCYF has established skill acquisition centers both for the learning, sharpening and development of skills that required for the development of an individual.
Part of our post-COVID-19 strategy at the skill acquisition centre is to empower younger person to equip them with their desired skills to gain financial freedom to protect them from youthful exuberance. When girls and women are empowered through skill acquisition, mentorship and entrepreneurial development, they have the knowledge and skills to gain financial freedom for themselves and their communities, accomplish their goals, and live healthier and more fulfilled lives. Hence, why GCCYF skill, mentorship and entrepreneurial development centre is committed in empowering girls, boys and women for FREE.

GCCYF has a skill acquisition centre that has been in existence since the year 2016. It was officially opened on the 28th of January 2016 and over the years we have had more than 3000 young persons who enrolled to acquire skills of their various choices. Our skill centre runs for free without charges. We have skills such as
- Baking of cakes and pastries
- Fashion designing
- Bead making
- Liquid soap and antiseptic making
- Making of bags, shoes, slippers and sandals with Ankara materials.
- Computer
- Make-up
We have graduated a total number of 2,500 trainees who have started earning income from the skills they acquired from our centre.
Some of the already graduated trainees now serve as volunteers to train others that came in after them.
